Ryan's journey in the culinary world began at the Art Institute of Atlanta, where he earned his Associate Degree in Culinary Arts. During his time there, his passion for baking and crafting delicious pastries blossomed. His insatiable love for all things sweet led him to further his education at Johnson and Wales University in Charleston, SC, where he pursued an advanced degree in Baking and Pastry. Throughout his studies, Ryan excelled in various aspects of baking, including bread making and the intricate art of fondant and gum paste work.
After graduating, Ryan gained valuable experience working for a prestigious catering company in Atlanta, honing his skills in the culinary field. However, he briefly explored a different career path in the hair industry, earning licenses as an apprentice and cosmetologist. During this time, he showcased his talent in creating unique hairstyles and avant-garde hair designs.
Despite his success in the hair industry, Ryan's passion for baking and pastries never waned. He returned to his culinary roots, taking on roles as a server, prep chef, and pastry assistant. It was during his time as an instructor's assistant at The Viking Showroom that Ryan discovered his love for teaching. When given the opportunity to teach a dessert demonstration, he realized his deep satisfaction in sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm for the art of baking and pastry.
